Dogra Sadar Sabha delegation meets Governor

JAMMU: A sixteen member delegation of Dogra Sadar Sabha (DSS), comprising retired senior civil, police, military officers, serving academicians and other eminent persons, led by its President Gulchain Singh Charak, former Minister, met Governor N N Vohra at the Raj Bhavan here today.
The delegation apprised Governor about its very concerns about the continuing delay in the restoration and revival of the Mubarak Mandi Complex; need for preservation of archives and documents of the Dogra period; revival of Jammu Festival to promote Dogra art and culture and grant of enhanced annuity to Gallantry Award winners/ their widows/dependents.
Besides this the deputation raised the issues like early acquisition of land for establishing two ex-Servicemen Colonies; abolishing the Lakhanpur Toll Barrier; holding early elections to Panchayats and local bodies, providing safe shelters and provision of basic facilities to the inhabitants near LoC and IB; checking the increasing drug menace; early deportation of Rohingyas, and removing the road block outside the Secretariat building, for free public movement.
Giving a keen hearing to deputation, the Governor assured that the issues raised would be taken up with the concerned quarters, for early resolution.
