Kavinder distributes motorized cycles to differently-abled, LPG connections under PMUY

Jammu, Dec 11: Stressing the need to ensure inclusive growth of differently-abled members of our society, the Speaker, Legislative Assembly and MLA Gandhi Nagar, Kavinder Gupta today said that a society cannot grow until every individual is empowered to realize his full potential.
Kavinder Gupta said this while addressing a gathering organized here today wherein he distributed motorized cycles among differently-abled members from his Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

The Speaker said that government is focused on empowering all citizens and create an inclusive environment for differently able people so that they can work normally in the society and live a dignified life with respect and honor.
‘’The aim of the government is to help these people become self reliant and independent individuals,’’ he added.
Kavinder said that to help them, government has made provisions to provide loan facilities so that they can work and open their own venture and earn their livelihood.

He said that multiple schemes have been launched by central and state government to empower them besides measures are also being undertaken to make access to public infrastructure friendly for differently-abled people by constructing ramps in government offices, educational benefits, review of reservation rules besides availability of motorized cycles.
Later, Kavinder also inaugurated multiple development works in the constituency including inauguration of lane and drain at Deep Nagar Kunjwani, inauguration of newly installed transformer at Shivshakti Mohalla Narwal Bala.
Earlier, the Speaker distributed LPG connections under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwal Yojana (PMUY) among BPL beneficiaries at Gorkha Nagar.
Kavinder issued instructions to concerned authorities to ensure that the benefit of the scheme reaches to the deserving people at the grass roots level.
He directed the concerned officials to identify more BPL families and ensure that no eligible beneficiary is left out. He also exhorted eligible women candidates from BPL families to apply for the scheme to reap the benefits.
