No need to panic: Lotus on bad weather prediction

Srinagar, Dec 11: “At a meeting today, I told the chief secretary and divisional commissioner Kashmir that we have not made the prediction of heavy snowfall in plains,” he said. Meanwhile, Lotus said that will be further dip in temperatures in coming days. Senior superintendent of police (Traffic/Rural), Ajaz Ahmad Bhat said that road connecting Ladakh with Kashmir has been officially closed from Sunday for winter months. He said they have withdrawn all their personnel deployed on the highway between Sonamarg and Drass.

A meteorological department official said that the night temperature at most places in Kashmir including Ladakh has dipped.
Srinagar, he said, recorded a low of minus 1.2 degree Celsius last night, a degree down from the previous night’s temperature, while as mercury in Qazigund in settled at a low of minus 2.1 degrees Celsius, slightly down from minus 1.9 degrees Celsius the previous night. Gulmarg recorded a low of zero degrees Celsius while as Pahalgam registered a minimum of minus 2.1 degrees Celsius as against minus 1.5 degrees Celsius the previous night.
