Zaira Wasim molestation case | Accused Mumbai based businessman ARRESTED

New Delhi: The man who was accused of allegedly misbehaving with 17-year-old actress Zaira Wasim on a Vistara flight has been arrested. The accused is a Mumbai Based businessman named Vikas Sachdev. Yesterday morning after Zaira’s video on Instagram narrating her plight went viral, an FIR was registered for the case. After which the police arrested the 39-year-old businessman from Mumbai. The accused with be presented in a magistrate court today.

Zaira went live on Instagram after she got off from the flight, and the actress was crying narrating the incident. In the video, Zaira looked quite disturbed while she said, “So, I was in a flight travelling from Delhi to Mumbai today and right behind me one middle-aged man who made my two-hour journey miserable. I tried to record it on phone to understand it better because the cabin lights were dimmed, I failed to get it...The lights were dimmed, so it was even worse. It continued for another five to ten minutes and then I was sure of it. He kept nudging my shoulder and continued to move his foot up and down my back and neck."

While the airlines rendered the actress an apology they also issued a statement on the same. As per reports on an online portal, Vistara also submitted an initial report to the DGCA and gave all the necessary details to the police.

The National Commission for Women (NCW), as well as the Delhi and Maharashtra commisions for women on Sunday, urged actress Zaira Wasim to file a police complaint. And the actress’ oral statement was recorded by the police after which an FIR was filed against an unknown person under Section 354 of the IPC and under POCSO act since Zaira is a minor. The Delhi Commission For Women has also sent a notice to the airlines asking for some important details about the flight and the passenger.

In fact, the commission is taking the matter quite seriously and as per reports in Hindustan Times if the accused is found guilty he will be put on the national no-fly list, as what, Jayant Sinha, the junior minister for civil aviation told the daily.
