Tiny tots bring back memories of Shaheed Bhagat Singh

JAMMU: Celebrations of annual day created a unique patriotic ambience when students of GD Goenka Public School, Jammu today dedicated their 10th Annual Day Function -Aahvaan 2017- a tribute to Shaheed Bhagat Singh" by remembering the supreme sacrifices of Shaheed Bhagat Singh to liberate the country from the yoke of Britishers' domination.
Choudhary Zulfkar Ali, the minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) Department was the chief guest on the occasion while a galaxy of prominent citizens also was present on this occasion.
While speaking on the contribution of the greater freedom fighter, the chief guest Minister for FCS&CA Zulfkar Ali urged upon the youngsters to draw inspiration from Shaheed Bhagat Singh and raise voice against any form of repression. The minister also asked the youngsters to contribute every day towards the development of the nation in whatsoever form.
"It is very unfortunate that the modern generation does not know about the supreme sacrifices of the great freedom fighters who laid down their lives happily while fighting against the repression of Britishers," Choudhary Zulfkar Ali said.
Earlier the programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp of knowledge by the Chief Guest, Choudhary Zulfkar Ali accompanied with prominent from management committee of school.
Among others dignitaries to grace the occasion were Dewan Chand Bansal, Chairman of the School Managing Committee, Rahul Bansal, President, Om Prakash Bansal Charitable Trust and School Management Committee, Sanya Bansal, Director and Principal of the school, Rajesh Rathore.
The evening was reserved for a gala presentation as the day-long celebrations were bound to be a befitting occasion for the spontaneous outburst of high spiritedness in a wide range of creativity.
At the outset of occasion, Saraswati Vandana and Ganesh Vandana were recited to invoke blessings of Almighty followed by patriotic song by the school choir comprising talented singers and instrumentalists who depicted the ethos of soldiers and spread the message of love, peace and harmony
A bouquet of cultural activities comprising of folk dances and a medley of songs captivated the audience and got resonant applause from the spectators which apparently was an acknowledgement to the latent talent of tiny tots who performed to their best. Beautifully choreographed dances enraptured everyone present there and left glued them to their seats. The blend of cosmic tune and divine music evoked the profound devotion for the country.
However every cultural item presented by tiny tots won good applauds but the play "Shaheed Bhagat Singh", stole the show as it left the audience enormously spellbound with a gripping enactment by the Goenkans.
The play was an enchanting presentation and was a rich tribute to the sacrificial life of Shaheed - e-azam Bhagat Singh who struggled day and night for the freedom of mother India.
Through the play, the school focused on disseminating the patriotic feeling which is the need of the hour and enabled the students to gain a unique entity. The young population was enlightened with the ideology of Bhagat Singh and a new sense of valor and pride to do and die for the nation.
During proceedings of occasion, Rajesh Rathore, the principal of the school presented school annual report highlighting the achievements of school for the year 2017. He appreciated the members of staff for the brilliant achievements and expressed satisfaction. It was followed by an elaborate 'Award ceremony', wherein all the achiever were felicitated with prizes, medals and Trophies.
Aparna Verma, Vice Principal of the school proposed the vote of thanks to chief guest and august gathering. The gala event concluded with the singing of National Anthem.
