Excise sleuths conducts raids in Kathua, 900 Kgs of Lahan, 7 Litres of illicit liquor destroyed.

Kathua, Dec 9: In order to curb the menace of illicit distillation of liquor,  the Excise Department Jammu has tightened its noose on violators of the various provisions of the J&K Excise Act in entire Jammu division.


On the directions of the Excise Commissioner Mohd. Javed Khan and supervision of Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive), Jammu Syed Muried Hussain Shah, the Excise Team Kathua led by ETO Excise Range Kathua, Mr Vikas Anand, Inspectors Excise Sanjeev Khajuria, SI Amit Sharma, along with excise guards Rajinder Singh, Mohinder Kumar, Akeel Ahmed & Kanwar Dutt raided the Chak Drab Khan Upper & Chak Drab Khan Lower, Jakhbar Dambra, Mirpur Jaggu areas of Kathua district to arrest the menace of illicit distillation of liquor. 


In the process 07 litres of illicit liquor & more than 900 Kgs of Lahan, raw material of illicit liquor, which is highly hazardous and injurious for health was recovered by the raiding team from state land & later destroyed on spot.
