Army organises Youth Festival at Chasana

Jammu, Dec 9: Continuing with the Army’s initiative to promote sports in the remote areas of the state and garner interest of the youth, the Indian Army conducted a youth festival under the flagship programme Sadhbhavana at Chasana village of Reasi district.

This event was the part of the Ans Valley Youth Festival being conducted in various villages of the Ans valley. A total of 410 youth participated in Volleyball, Kabaddi and Kho Kho during the sports festival. The atmosphere during the matches was electrifying, with all the supporters cheering with zeal and vigor. The aim of the festival was to build competitive spirit amongst the youth as well as provide a positive impetus to rural sports activities in the region. Winner in all categories were felicitated which included award for the Best Competitor. In addition Souvenirs were also given to all participants as a token of sportsman spirit and fair play.

The Sarpanch of Chasana and elders of nearby areas expressed their gratitude towards the Army. They appreciated the Army’s endeavor to motivate youth of the region and bring in bonhomie and also expressed their desire for more such events to be organised in future to further motivate the youth for choosing a sports career
