Hotelier booked for contempt of court

KATRA: Katra police today booked an hotelier for contempt of court as the accused raised a hotel and threw it open for business purposes despite the sealing orders by the court.
“ In a case title A CITIZEN Vs. STATE of J&K, the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir on April 01, 2014, had ordered sealing of at least 27 buildings which have been constructed within the Katra Municipal without permission”, said a police officer.
He said that the erring guest house owner completed his hotel and threw it open for business purposes, hence attracted a case FIR No. 230/17 under sections under 353, 378, 468, 202, 201, 189, 188, 187, 186, 183, 179, 177, 175, 120B, 119 and 114 of RPC.
Municipal Committee Katra has also given a list of 27 buildings which were constructed within the Katra Municipal area without permission.Likewise, there were constructions which have come up in violation of the Master Plan as has been indicated in the status report filed by the Divisional Commissioner.
