New Delhi, Dec 7: Expressing concern over the safety of women in the national capital, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday said that sharing ride with strangers may not be safe for them.
However, the Chief Minister termed ride sharing a 'good idea' and said that the issue was being discussed by his government.
"I agree that ride sharing is a good idea. This is being discussed within the government. Our concern is women safety. Sharing a ride with strangers may not be safe for women," Mr Kejriwal said by retweeting a post which stated that ride sharing was a very effective tool for checking congestion and pollution and banning it would be stupid and absurd.
He invited ideas on how to have ride sharing while ensuring women safety simultaneously.
Notably, the Kejriwal-led government last month denied to implement the Odd-Even Scheme after the National Green Tribunal denied to exempt women from it, citing the same.
