Smuggler held with 14-kg poppy straw in Jammu
Jammu, Dec 7: Police on Thursday arrested a drug peddler with contraband of poppy straw from General Bus Stand area here.
"During a patrolling at bus stand in the wee hours, a man roaming under mysterious circumstances was intercepted," police here said.
They said on his personal search, 14-kg poppy straw (bhukki) was recovered.
The drug peddler was identified as Jasmer Singh, resident of Karimpur, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, Punjab.
A Case under the NDPS Act was registered against him and investigation started.
