Life remains crippled in parts of Pulwama

Srinagar, Nov 23: Business and other activities remained affected for the third day on Thursday in some areas of south Kashmir district of Pulwama, where a local Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) militant was killed in an encounter with security forces on Monday.


Official sources said shops and business establishments remained closed and traffic was also off the road in Tral and adjoining areas in Pulwama due to spontaneous strike. However, some private vehicles were plying on some routes.

Work in government offices, banks and educational institutions was also affected.

However, situation elsewhere in the Pulwama and other districts in south Kashmir was normal.

On Monday, HM militant Adil Ahmad Chopan, a resident of Lurao, Tral, was killed in an encounter with security forces in the forest.
