Students at BGSBU Click Selfie Instead Of Standing For National Anthem

Jammu: In a shocking video, Some of the Students from Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGBSU) in Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir were caught on camera disrespecting the national anthem after they did not stand up to pay respect when the anthem is sung or played.
The incident took place during a valedictory function of the Silver Rolling Trophy of the University.In this event, National Anthem was sung by organisers but some of the students did not stand up to pay respect. Two students were seen clicking a selfie with students who were standing as a mark of respect. Jammu and Kashmir Governor NN Vohra, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, SSP Rajouri and Vice-Chancellor of the University were present at the function. The video of the incident has gone viral on social media and is receiving strong condemnation.
Showing disrespect to the national anthem and the national flag is punishable by law under the Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act, 1971. The Act prohibits insult against the national flag or the national anthem.
Notably, China’s parliament is considering tougher penalties for those who disrespect the national anthem. The government is planning to Send Its Citizens To Three-Year Jail If They Disrespect The National Anthem.
