World heritage week celebrations begins at Ranbir Library

Jammu: World heritage week is being celebrated from 19 to 25 November 2017 in Jammu and kashmir.

In series of events today i.e 19 Nov 2017 an exhibition of rare and old books is conducted in Shri Ranbir library kachi chawni which started from 10.00 a.m in the morning under the able guidelines of Mrs. Priya Sethi Hon'able minister of state for education, technical education , culture, tourism, horticulture, floriculture and parks.

Other dignitaries present on the occasion were Secretary to Govt. Culture dept Ms Dishad khan IAS,Director libraries and research Jenab Mukhtar ul Aziz, Deputy director libraries Jammu Smt Renu kumari, large number of general public, prominent citizens and other staff members of library dept.

Speaking on the occasion Deputy dir.l ib Jammu division Smt. Renu kumari told that Sh Ranbir library kachi chawni is an old heritage monument of the state and has a good collection of rare, old and precious books.

She appealed the general public to visit the libraries and have opportunity to go through this treasure of the library department.

Prominent citizens, large number readers and general public joined the World heritage week the whole day.

Sunil Dimple president Jammu west assembly Movement also attended the function and thanked the deputy director library Jammu for the impressive function organized on the occasion.

He said our SRS library is an 125 year hold heritage monument and it gave immence pleaseuer that we are celebrating the World heritage week in the historic monument SRS library.
