JAMMU: In yet another letter to the centre- sixth in past eight days, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday has pressed for extending more facilities to the Hajj pilgrims of Jammu and Kashmir, during the coming annual pilgrimage, next year.
After writing two letters on Friday, urging New Delhi to include the Srinagar International Airport among the airports in India from where flights to the ASEAN countries are to be operated, besides asking it to continue assistance to the state's poultry industry, Mehbooba wrote a fresh letter on Saturday to union Minister for Minority Affairs, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi.
In the letter, the Chief Minister detailed the facilities being provided to Hajj pilgrims at Srinagar embarking point and beyond. She has sought further strengthening of the same in future.
The Chief Minister said the facility of embarkation at Srinagar saves a lot of time and cost of the pilgrims from the State and sought continuation of the same.
Earlier, pertinent to mention here, Mehbooba had communicated to Centre through three letters last week, drawing New Delhi's attention towards various issues she was apprised of during her recent visits to different parts of the state in connection with her Public Outreach programme.
Mehbooba had pleaded with Centre for establishment of an examination centre for the NEET (PG) examination at Srinagar in a communication to union Health & Family Welfare Minister, J P Nadda; she had also asked the Union Communications Minister, Manoj Sinha to take measures for bringing Tulail
village of the Gurez Valley into the cellular coverage area, while her third letter was addressed to Union Information & Broadcasting Minister, Smriti Zubin Irani, in which Mehbooba had sought her intervention into the problems being faced by local producers and content providers of DD Kashir due to stoppage to commissioning of programmes and putting stringent conditions in the fresh notification which detriments their prospective.
