Hideout busted in Kishtwar, Huge cache of arms recovered

JAMMU: Security forces in a joint operation today busted a terrorist hideout in a joint operation launched forest area of Naidgam-Chhatru in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir and effected recovery of arms and ammunition including UBGL launcher, Grenades, Chinese pistol and etc.
"Acting on specific information, army and police this morning launched a search operation in Forest area of Naidgam, Chhatru and recovered arms and ammunition from a hideout concealed inside a natural cave, Defence spokesperson Col N N Joshi Said here this evening.
"The operation was launched jointly in the early hours today by the security forces, Defence spokesperson said, adding, "the security forces cordoned off the area and carried out a meticulous search during which they succeeded in locating the natural hideout of terrorists which was used during peak of militancy for sustenance."
Col Joshi said, "During the search and seek operations the security forces recovered two Chinese pistols with two magazines and five rounds, one .303 rifle with one magazine and ten cartridges, one UBGL launcher with five grenades from the spot.
"The recovery of war like stores will deal a severe blow to the nefarious designs of terrorists to revive militancy in the area, he said.
Army spokesperson said that the security forces are continuing with their persistent operations to keep Kishtwar district safe and sanitized from terrorists as well as their support infrastructure
