One nabbed with drugs in Rajouri

In its drive against drug menace, Rajouri police last night nabbed another peddler in the town recovering capsules and syrup from his possession..


A police team headed by Incharge Police Post Rajouri City, SI Danish Maqbool laid a naka near new bridge after some specific input when a man coming from some distance suddenly changed his route after spotting cops.

Sensing suspicious movement of the man, cops chased him and during frisking of a polybag carried by him, 118 banned capsules and two bottles of banned syrup were recovered which have been seized.

The said man identified as Shakeel Ahmed son of Mohd Bashir, Age 42, resident of Ward No 02 Rajouri town has been arrested and a case FIR No 473 U/S 8/21/22 of NDPS Act has been registered in Rajouri police station.

Recovery was made by police team under the supervision of SHO Rajouri and DySP HQrs.

Pertinent here to mention that Rajouri police is carrying out a drive aimed to eradicate the menace of drugs from society and a large number of peddlers have been arrested in recent past.
