General Rawat presents President's Standard Presentation to 47 Armoured in Jammu

Jammu based Sunjwan Military Station on Saturday witnessed a historic moment when Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Bipin Rawat on behalf of the President of India Ram Nath Kovind presented the 'President's Standard' to 47 Armoured Regiment here.

The standard is an award for unit heroism and epitomizes the history, undaunting spirit and acts of valour forged in sweat and blood of the regiment. This honour was bestowed on the regiment in recognition of its unflinching meritorius service since its raising on Nov 15, 1982.

The standard presentation ceremony showcased a mounted Parade by the regiment on the T-72 tanks with clock work precision and immuculate coordination. Lt Gen DR Soni GOC-in-C ARTRAC and Lt Gen Surinder Singh GOC-in-C Western Command also present on the occasion.
