Grenade lobbed at MLA Tral's residence

SRINAGAR: For second time in as many days, lawmakers came under attack in Kashmir as terrorists on Friday afternoon hurled a grenade at the residence of ruling Peoples Democratic Party MLA Mushtaq Ahmad Shah at Tral area in the Pulwama district.
However, it exploded in the compound without causing any damage, the police said.
No loss of life or injuries were reported after the incident, police said while not divulging whether Shah was present in the house.
This was the second attack on a PDP MLA in as many days in Kashmir.
Militants had hurled a grenade on the residence of Aijaz Ahmad Mir, the People's Democratic Party (PDP) MLA from Wachi in Shopian district, on Thursday.
The blast had taken place inside the residential compound of Mir, prompting the security personnel to fire a few rounds in retaliation.
The police personnel deployed on guard fired a few rounds in reaction to the blast, they said.
However, police officials said they were ascertaining the nature of the blast.
There was no damage in terms of life or property in the incident, they said.
