State Level Seminar on 'Humans and Wildlife' held at SP College

SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 16: As part of the wildlife week celebrations, a State-Level Seminar was organized by the Department of Environment and Water Management & P.G. Department of Environmental Science, S.P. College Srinagar.
The seminar started with a backdrop address by Dr. Humaira Qadri followed by the welcome address of Prof. (Dr.) Parveen Pandit, Principal of the college, who stressed on the sensitization of the society towards wildlife conservation. An opening keynote address was presented by Prof. (Dr.) G. A. Bhat.
Students, academicians and researchers from different colleges of the state participated in the seminar and presented their views on the theme “Humans and Wildlife”.
Presentations of the participants were adjudged by a jury of four members including Prof (Dr) G A Bhat, Prof. Mei’raj-ud-din Sheikh, Prof Zahida Naseem and Prof Gurmeet Kour.
Among the participants Nibras of IASE, Srinagar and Nabahat Wani of S.P. College, Srinagar obtained the first and second positions respectively while the third position was shared by Zarnigah of SP College Srinagar and Rabia Shafi of AAA Memorial College Bemina.
All other participants were given consolation prizes. Dr Suhaib A Bandh (Organizing Secretary) presented the seminar report and vote of thanks.
Prof. Mei’raj-ud-din Sheikh presented the closing remarks and Dr. Qazi Ashiq Hussain acted as the rapporteur of the seminar proceedings.
