Srinagar, October 5: In occupied Kashmir, Dukhtaran-e-Millat Chairperson, Aasiya Andrabi and her associate Fehmeeda Sofi have been shifted from Ambphalla jail in Jammu to central jail in Srinagar.

Aasiya Andrabi and Fehmeeda Sofi were booked under the draconian Public Safety Act (PSA) in May this year and were lodged at Ambphalla jail in Jammu. The High Court of the occupied territory had quashed the PSA order against them on August 31.

The 1st Additional Sessions Judge, Srinagar, on Wednesday had directed the puppet authorities on Wednesday to shift Aasiya Andrabi and Fehmeeda Sofi to Srinagar Central Jail.

“Andrabi was sent to judicial custody in Central Jail,” said advocate Muhammad Abdullah Pandit, who along with advocate Shafqat Hussain represented Andrabi before the additional sessions judge. He said that Aasiya and Sofi were being sent to Central Jail in an old case that is still in trial.
