Legal Metrology Department (LMD) imposes fine on Third Millennium Public School Nowshera

A team of Legal Metrology Department Rajouri headed by Assistant Controller Rajesh Heera today imposed a fine of Rs. 25000 on Third Millennium Higher Secondary, a private institute in Nowshera Sub-Division for adopting unfair trade practices and sale of books, notebooks etc in violation of Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodity Rules).

The team has booked the management for said offences following several complaints from parents of School going children in which it has been alleged that the school management was siphoning of hard earned money of the complainants.

The management was restricting students to buy school diaries, pens and notebooks without printed MRP on them or on exorbitant prices

Meanwhile the Assistant Controller appealed to the public to register their genuine complaints with the office of Legal Metrology so that offenders may be brought to book for further legal action.
