The BJP is committed to ushering in a 'New India' as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi that will have good governance and corruption free atmosphere and the party believes in promoting the "politics of performance", party chief Amit Shah said here on Monday. In his presidential address at the BJP National Executive, Mr Shah rejected outright the "politics of dynasty" as being allegedly propounded by Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi and said, "The BJP believes in a India wherein everyone and anyone can attain the country's top positions by sheer merit".

Briefing reporters, Union Minister and BJP leader Piyush Goyal said in his speech, the BJP president condemned the "politics of violence" in CPI-M led Left Front ruled Kerala and Trinamool-ruled West Bengal. "He (Amit Shah) asserted that BJP workers will not be cowed down by the politics of violence unleashed by rivals and launch a padyatra in Kerala from October 3 to 17 to "expose" the politics of Left parties," Mr Goyal said. "Lotus can still bloom in the violent mess," he said.
