JAMMU: Amid the ongoing shelling on the border, Pakistan on Friday has reported that six people, including four women, were killed and 20 injured after Indian forces 'resorted to unprovoked firing of mortars targeting civilians' across the border in Sialkot.
The heavy shelling by Pakistan over the past week which resulted in several deaths and injuries to many, besides heavy loss to property has forced India to retaliate strongly over the past couple of days.
Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) had said that four people were killed by firing and mortar shelling in the village of Bini Sulariyan in the Charwah sector, reported Dawn News.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr Farrukh Naveed told Dawn News that the number of dead had risen to six people, who he identified as Mariam Mahmood, Mariam Ishaq, Nafees Bibi, Khursheed Bibi, Ashraf Mansoor and Imran Ghani.
Meanwhile, continuous violation of ceasefire from Pakistan has led to migration of over half of the border population from Indian sectors of Ramgarh, Arnia and RS Pura.
