After two months of taking over the probe in the sensational Gudiya gangrape and murder case, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today said the agency is about to crack the mystery and waiting for few forensic reports before it file the conclusive report in the High Court. Talking to UNI, CBI counsel Anshual Bansal told mediapersons that the agency is very near to crack the case and today sought three-week more time in the High Court to file supplementary status report on the next hearing.

During the hearing today, a division bench of acting Chief Justice Sanjay Karol and Justice Sandeep Sharma allowed three-week time for the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of the CBI to furnish supplementary status report on October 11. Mr Bansal said that CBI contented to file another status report and is waiting for reports of Narco or polygraph analysis and test conducted by the agency at Ahmedabad FSL and some other important tests. Earlier CBI DSP Seema Pawha furnished the status report about the outcome of the probe during last two weeks. On July 4, a 16-year-old girl left her school in Mahasu, Shimla and headed home. On her way back, Rajendra Singh, a orchard manager from her village, offered her a lift. The vehicle had five other men, each one of them inebriated.

They took the girl to a nearby forest and took turns to rape her. Later, they killed her. The victim's body was found on July 6 with bite marks all over her body, burns from cigarettes in the forest. The state government constituted a six-member SIT of the state police including IG Z H Zaidi. On July 21, the High Court handed over the case to CBI as an accused died in the state police lock up on July 18. CBI has recently conducted the Narco and polygraph analysis of remaining five accused who are in currently judicial custody.
