RJD today demanded that CBI should interrogate Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi to ascertain whether they were about Srijan scam. It was unbelievable that the Finance Minister and Chief Minister of a state would remain ignorant of huge scam to the tune of more than Rs 1,000 crores when the matter was also brought in light by Comptroller and Auditor General of India in its report in 2008 and only interrogation of both by the CBI would reveal the fact whether they were telling right or wrong, RJD vice president Shivanand Tiwary said and demanded a thorough interrogation of both Mr Kumar and Mr Modi by CBI in Srijan scam.

Mr Tiwary told media persons here that Comptroller and Auditor General of India in its report on Bihar in 2008, had pointed out about irregularities committed in Srijan, an NGO working in Bhagalpur when Mr Modi was finance minister during first tenure of NDA government in the state. "In May 2013, Mr Modi as finance minister had chaired a meeting of regulatory body attended by RBI and other bank officials and it came out that there was not a single non banking or para banking institution registered with Security and Exchange Board of India (SEBI)", RJD leader said adding that a detailed list of 21 nationalised banks were released by government in newspapers, making appeal to people to go for any sort of transanction with only such listed banks.
