IndiGo's Latest Offer: Tickets On Sale Below Rs. 1,100

New Delhi: Indigo is offering all-inclusive tickets from Rs. 1,099 on domestic routes as aggressive competition is pushing airlines to offer discounted fares to attract flyers. IndiGo's Rs. 1,099 offer is applicable on the Delhi-Jaipur route. Some of the other routes where IndiGo is offering discounted fares include Chennai-Bengaluru (from Rs. 1,120), Jammu Srinagar (Rs. 1,168), Bagdogra-Guwahati (Rs. 1,227), Vizag-Hyderabad (Rs. 1,249), Agartala-Guwahati (Rs. 1,249), Bengaluru-Chennai (Rs. 1,285) and Goa-Bengaluru (Rs. 1,316). A check on IndiGo's website on Tuesday showed tickets for a flight from Vizag to Hyderabad next month were available for booking at Rs. 1,249.

IndiGo further said on its website said that "an additional, non-refundable convenience fee of INR. 200 per passenger per sector will be levied on all online payments made through Net Banking/ Credit Cards/Debit Cards (or SGD 10/AED 20/THB 105/OMR 2/NPR 320/USD 10/QAR 20)."

IndiGo has also announced a new service that enables its passengers arriving at airports earlier than their flight schedule to board the earliest flight at Rs.1,000. Called 'IndiGo Early', the service offered by the airline is applicable to "all passengers travelling on a domestic flight, wanting to prepone their flight (within 4 hours)", the airline added.

Promotional fares by airlines have spurred a strong growth in passenger traffic in the aviation sector. Passengers carried by domestic airlines during January-July 2017 were 657.21 lakh, registering a growth of 17.18 per cent, according to data from aviation regulator DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation).

Meanwhile, AirAsia India, a joint venture between Tata Sons and Malaysia's AirAsia, is offering promotional fares from Rs. 1,099. AirAsia India has also announced new routes, on which it will start operations from October 7.
