Govt working hard to ensure dev of all regions of State, says Sham

JAMMU: Minister for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control, Sham Lal Choudhary today said that the State Government is working hard to ensure development of all regions of Jammu & Kashmir.
The Minister was addressing a gathering after starting construction work of 4.5 km road from Badyal Brahmana to Cremation Ground to be constructed by PWD (R&B) at an estimated cost of Rs. 55 lakh under NABARD.
Sham Choudhary further said that the Government is working hard to ensure development of all the regions of the State, especially rural and far-off areas. He said that several developmental projects have been completed and more are in pipeline to give fillip to the development in the State. The Minister said the Government has taken various steps for the welfare of the common people and that special emphasis is laid on the uplift of women, farmers and weaker sections of the society. He called upon the people to take maximum benefit of the State and centrally sponsored schemes including Aasra, State Marriage Assistance Scheme, Ladli Beti and various other social welfare schemes. Senior functionaries of PHE, PWD (R&B) and other concerned officers were present on the occasion.
Earlier, the Minister launched a plantation drive at Jal Bhawan Narwal, a major PHE installation. He directed engineers to conduct regular plantation drives in their respective sub divisions.
