Announce regularization policy for daily wagers: NMC to CM
JAMMU: The National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) on Sunday appealed to Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti to announce a comprehensive regularization policy for nearly 61,000 daily rated workers working in various departments of the State Government for the last over 23 years.
Addressing a rally here, Subash Shastri, President, National Mazdoor Conference (NMC), reminded that the issue of daily rated workers was comprehensively resolved as per the policy direction during President’s Rule, when the then Governor, General (Retd) K. V. Krishna Rao had announced regularization of daily rated workers in his Republic Day address on 26 January, 1995.
Shastri hoped that the State Government headed by Mehbooba Mufti will take a lead and announce a similar policy pertaining to daily rated workers on the eve of Independence Day as a gift to the working class.
Shastri draw attention to the fact that prior to constitution of the present regime, the Governor had issued orders for regularization of left over 3,660 daily rated workers falling under SRO-64 on 27 February, 2015, but the order was not implemented by various departments of the State Government till today, thus severely affecting this poor and helpless workforce.
Similarly, the issue pertaining to clerical cadre has also not been resolved till date with the result that there is resentment within the cadre, Shastri said.
Terming the Chief Minister as pro-employees and working class, he hoped that these burning issues are expected to be resolved only by the present regime.
