DDC Pulwama reviews disaster management plan

PULWAMA, AUGUST 13: Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Ghulam Mohammad Dar today chaired a meeting to review the disaster management plan and preparedness for the district.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Awantipora, Chief Education Officer, Sports Officer, Chief Medical Officer, Executive Engineers of R&B, PHE and flood control, besides all District and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
On the occasion, DDC directed all the concerned officers to provide the requisite detailed list of inventory resources including men, machinery, and boats available in the district. He also directed the officers to identify volunteers for disaster management training.
The DDC also directed Mechanical, Health, PHE, MC, R&B, PDD, I&FC, SDRF, Fire and Emergency Services and other concerned Departments to provide information like the detail of dewatering pumps, No. of doctors, Ambulances, Para Medical Staff and Water Tankers. The meeting also discussed the preparedness to deal with possible adverse weather eventualities.
The Deputy Commissioner stressed on the officers to maintain a close coordination among various departments so that effective response is ensured to deal with any calamity.
