Life today returned to normal after remaining crippled for a day in south Kashmir's Pulwama district, where people observed spontaneous strike against the killing of three militants of Zakir Musa group of al-Qaeda in an encounter with security forces on August 9. A civilian also died when security forces fired pellets to disperse demonstrators near the encounter site.

The mobile service also resumed in the district after remaining suspended for two days as a precautionary measure to prevent spread of rumours on social media. However, mobile internet remained suspended for the third day today. Business and other activities resumed today and traffic was plying on all routes normally today. Work in government offices and banks was normal.
