‘Operation All Out’ part of our efforts to bring peace: DGP Vaid

Srinagar: Asserting that the police and security forces want to bring peace and prosperity to the state, Director General of Police, Dr SP Vaid on Thursday said that the ‘Operation All Out’ launched in Kashmir against militants was part of this effort to restore normalcy in the valley.
“Our efforts are that Kashmir is freed from the violence and terrorism orchestrated from across. We want that people here live peaceful and prosperous life, business runs normally, schools remain open. Operation All Out is a part of those efforts to bring peace and prosperity to the state,” Vaid told reporters on the sidelines of the Police Darbar held at District Police Lines Srinagar.
Reportedly, 258 militants from different outfits have been listed for “Operation All-Out” that has been launched strategically in the Kashmir valley. The security forces have intensified their operations against militants and have so far killed at least 132 militants including top commanders of Lashkar-e-Toiba and Hizbul Mujahideen.
Commending the police and other security forces for achievements on anti-militancy front, Vaid said 'operation all out' would continue till the mission of restoring peace in Kashmir is achieved.
Vaid while thanking the state government, for creating J&K Police Service Cadre and increasing the ex-gratia relief substantially from Rs 7 lakhs to Rs 20 lakhs, said that the present dispensation has been kind enough to consider favourably the proposals of PHQ and hoped that the other proposals with regard to opening of promotion avenues of Inspectors, SIs, ASIs and HCs will also be looked into favourably.
Referring to the welfare measures, the DGP said an amount of Rs 21 crore has been disbursed among the police personnel as welfare relief or loan, and around Rs one crore as welfare relief or loan among the SPOs.
On the raids of NIA and ED sleuths on businessmen and Hurriyat leaders, the DGP said that the businessmen ‘who are dealing with the hawala money that comes from outside or have invested the money into their business and real estate will be steadily investigated and questioned by NIA’.
During the darbar, orders of 'out-of-turn promotion' to 30 police officers/ Jawans of the range and conversion orders to 28 SPOs were handed over for their excellent work in fight against militancy.
