Progress on complaint redressal in CM’s Grievance Cell reviewed

JAMMU, JULY 25 – To review the status of redressal of grievances registered with the Chief Minister’s Grievance Cell, a meeting was convened under the chairmanship of Deputy Secretary, CM Secretariat, Inam-ul-Haq Siddiqui here today.
The meeting, which was convened on the directions of Coordinator CM’s Grievance Cell Tassaduq Mufti, deliberated on the steps to be taken for expediting the redressal of complaints.
In the meeting, the Nodal Officer of Rural Development Department informed that the department has disposed off 796 complaints and the remaining complaints have been forwarded to the concerned officers for speedy disposal. The Nodal Officer of PWD (R&B) said that only 20 complaints are pending with the department which would be redressed soon.
The Nodal Officer of Tourism Department informed that all the complaints received by the department have been disposed off. The Nodal Officer of Government Medical College, Jammu informed that 90 complaints had been received, out of which only 7 complaints are remaining for disposal.
In the meeting, the Nodal Officers were directed to regularly update the status of complaints on the portal of Online Public Grievance Monitoring System. The Deputy Secretary further directed them to strictly adhere to the Standing Operating Procedures (SOPs) as laid down while disposing off the complaints.
He said that awareness should be created to educate the public about the process of registering their complaints with the CM’s Grievance Cell, besides focusing on the speedy disposal of pending cases.
All the Nodal officers have been emphasized to dispose the pending complaints quickly so that goal envisioned by Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti to ensure prompt and effective public service delivery mechanism with great accountability is achieved.
Later, the Deputy Secretary also visited Migrants Township, Jagti and interacted with the residents to know about the problems being faced by them related to power supply, water supply and healthcare.
At Government Hospital in Jagti, he enquired about the stock of medicines, functioning of hospital wards and other basic facilities.
