CM turns tech savvy, reviews dev scenario of ten districts in day-long video con meet

JAMMU: Making effective use of the time of top officers in the secretariat and those in the field, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti today took to technology spending several hours taking developmental review meetings of all ten districts of Jammu division by video conferencing.
While legislators of different areas and the officers led by the Chief Secretary sat with the Chief Minister at the Civil Secretariat in Srinagar, the Deputy Commissioners and other line officers from various districts joined turned by along with the Divisional Commissioner in Jammu to participate in the meeting.
Mehbooba Mufti today directed the Administrative Secretaries to undertake frequent field visits to assess the execution of developmental projects on the ground and intervene on the spot in case of any difficulty or bottleneck.
Chairing a review meeting of key developmental projects in the Districts of Reasi, Poonch and Rajouri here today, the Chief Minister expressed dismay over slow pace of execution of development works and low spending in these Districts. She asked the Administrative Secretaries to monitor closely the pace of developmental works in the region and try to remove the bottle necks on the spot as and when these come to surface.
The Chief Minister also asked the Divisional Administration Jammu to identify land for the border migrants of Poonch and Rajouri districts so that the schools in these areas, which are being used presently as temporary shelters for them, are not overburdened and the academic activity is not disrupted.
While taking review meeting of three districts of Chenab Valley region, the Chief Minister directed for identification of one Hospital in each Assembly constituency and equipping it in terms of manpower and machinery, so that it is developed as a model health centre and people don't have to travel long distances for treatment at District Hospitals or capital cities.
Chairing a review meeting of key developmental projects of Chenab Valley comprising Doda, Kishtwar and Ramban districts here today, the Chief Minister directed placing of all diagnostic facilities like X-ray, Ultrasonography, medical tests etc. and placement of adequate staff in terms of Doctors and paramedical staff at these designated hospitals in every constituency so that people don't have to travel long distances in case of emergencies or bad weather.
Expressing dismay over the low spending reported in these districts so far, the Chief Minister directed Divisional Commissioner, Jammu to conduct a detailed tour of the region and fix the bottlenecks coming in the way of efficient execution of the developmental projects. She directed him to monitor the execution of developmental works in the region and consult the local representatives wherever necessary.
Chairing a review meeting of key developmental projects in the Districts of Jammu, Samba, Kathua and Udhampur here today, the Chief Minister directed the Administrative Secretaries to make the Deputy Commissioners and heads of Departments accountable in terms of reaching out to people and solving their day to day problems. She said low spending by the officers reflects poorly on their performance which would be viewed seriously.
Mehbooba Mufti asked the Chief Secretary to evolve an organised mechanism to evaluate and monitor the implementation of decisions of the District Development Board meetings, commitments and directions of the Chief Minister made and issued from time to time.
The Chief Minister directed posting of adequate Dogri, Urdu and Punjabi language teachers at the Colleges for teaching these subjects. She also directed exploring the feasibility of setting up an ITI at Ramnagar and early completion of Bani Degree College by early next year.
