106 PoK passengers, two from J&K stuck on either side of LoC

JAMMU: Over 100 residents of Pakistan occupied Kashmir are stranded in various parts of Jammu region, particularly in Rajouri and Poonch districts, as the weekly Cross-LoC bus service has not run for two consecutive weeks due to escalated tension on the Line of Control.
Monday is again scheduled departure day of the bus service but the authorities were not till late this evening as it depends on as it depends on situation unfolding till departure of bus tomorrow morning.
Following suspension of cross LoC trade and bus service, 116 Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) residents stuck here in Poonch, whereas two Indian nationals stuck on the other side of LoC.
Official sources said that weekly Poonch-Rawlakote "Rah-e-Milan" bus service was suspended through Chakan-Da-Bagh last Monday for the second consecutive week. They said Pakistan had again refused to open LoC gate, resulting into PoK passengers’ inability to return homes.
The Custodian of Chakan-Da-Bagh Trade and Bus Service, Tanveer Ahmed told The News Now that there was no Indian fresh visitor on last week and now, but two Indian nationals have been stuck on the other side of LoC, who went that side before the service suspended.
“Total 116 PoK residents stuck here and among them Visiting Permits of 55 persons have been overrun and now following today’s situation Deputy Commissioner, Poonch has written to Regional Passport Office (RPO) to extend their permit for a week period, so that these people can stay for one more week in India,” said Tanveer and added, “There were two Pakistani girls students who amazingly informed that their examination is going on in Pakistan and they are going to lose their precious time, but in this situation both trade and bus servie has been suspended and no chance of resuming till firing stops.”
