SP College holds annual boys road race

SRINAGAR, JULY 22: An annual road race for boys was held by Sri Pratap College Srinagar from Nehru Park to Nishat Garden today.
The run was flagged-off at 6:00 am by the college Principal Professor (Dr) Parveen Pandit from the Nehru Park along the Boulevard road on the banks of Dal Lake. Around 95 college students participated in the race.
Ather Bakshi B.Sc. 4th Semester took the lead by sprinting ahead of the rest of the competitors and finished first with a comfortable lead, followed by Muhammad Athar Palla of B.Sc 1st Semester and Awayaz Ahmad of B.Sc. 1st Semester respectively.
At the concluding ceremony, Professor (Dr) Parveen Pandit, stressed upon the students to take part in sports activities for their overall personality development. She also assured full support to the Sports Board for organizing intra and inter-College sports events.
The Convenor Sports Board, Dr Mohammad Farooq Rather and Dr Shahi Jehan Wani, Secretary Faculty Council also spoke on the occasion.
