HC stayed election of Forest Minister’s wife as Hockey President

Jammu, JULY 22: In a suit filed by Romal Singh seeking declaration to the effect that the election of Kanta Andotra w/o Sh. Lal Singh as President, G. S. Bakshi as General Secretary , Sheikh Mahmood Maqbool as Senior Vice President, defendant Asima ali & S. Ranbir Singhas Vice Presidents of Hockey Jammu and Kashmir is illegal.
City Judge Jammu M S Manhas observed that from the perusal of material/documents on record and the averments made in the plaint, it reveals that applicants/plaintiffs have succeeded to make out a prima facie case in their favour and balance of convenience also lies in favour of the applicants/plaintiffs. Notice is dispensed in view of the emergency urged by the Ld. Counsel for applicants/plaintiffs. In order to protect the applicant/plaintiff from irreparable loss/injury, and in order to preserve the suit property, the illegal election of non-applicants/defendants NO. 1 to 5 as President, General Secretary, Senior Vice President and Vice Presidents is temporarily stayed,till next date of hearing.
