Legal luminary Salaria dies at 84

Srinagar: Former Rajya Sabha MP and prominent legal luminary of the state, Choudhary Shabir Salaria passed away at Jammu today.
According to family sources, he was 84. Salaria had developed some complications due to low blood pressure. He was in Delhi for treatment. After recovery, he was coming back to Jammu in a train. After reaching Kathua, his health condition deteriorated and was admitted to Super Specialty Hospital, Jammu where he breathed his last in the afternoon today.
Advocate by profession, Salaria was appointed Advocate General of Jammu and Kashmir twice. Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has condoled the demise of Choudary Salaria.
In a condolence message, the CM recalled the contribution of Choudary Salaria to the legal profession in general and public life of the state in particular. The Chief Minister has conveyed her sympathies with the bereaved family, particularly his wife, Zubaida Salaria and prayed for the eternal peace to the departed soul.
