Dy CM calls on Union Home Min

New Delhi: Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh today called on Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh in New Delhi and discussed various issues related to Jammu and Kashmir. In the meeting, Dr Singh discussed with the Home Minister issues like cross-border firing and shelling, steps being taken by the government for sustainment of peace, successful conduct of Amarnath yatra, refugees' problems and matters related to internal security.
He also requested Rajnath Singh for undertaking a special recruitment drive in central security forces for people hailing from hilly and border areas of the state.
The Deputy Chief Minister also attended a review meeting organized to discuss the Delhi-Amritsar-Katra expressway. The meeting was chaired by Union Minister for Road, Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari and attended by Haryana Chief Minister, Manohar Lal Khattar and Punjab Chief Minister, Captain Amrinder Singh.
