Deputy Speaker for expediting RDD works in Gurez

SRINAGAR, JULY 20: Deputy Speaker, Legislative Assembly, Mr. Nazir Ahmed Gurezi today convened a meeting of the senior officers of Rural Development Department to review the functioning of the department in Gurez valley.
The meeting was attended by Director Rural Development Kashmir, Gazanfer Ali, Joint Director Planning, Rural Development and PR, S. Shabir Shafi, Assistant Commissioner Development, Bandipora, Mohammad Jahangir Khanday and concerned officers.
The Deputy Speaker directed the Director Rural Development to provide adequate funds sanction under Centre and State sponsored schemes, including MGNEREGA for Gurej so that all pending works can be started immediately.
Mr Gurezi said that there is acute shortage of staff in Gurez and asked the director to depute required staff in the offices for smooth functioning of the department. Director RDD assured the Deputy Speaker that a team of officials from the department will conduct a visit to Gurez and ensure that all ongoing development works would be completed before commencing of winter season.
