Srinagar: With the killing of two local militants at Pazalpora Sopore, there are no more local militants in northern areas of the Valley, a top police officer said on Wednesday.
Inspector General of Police (North Kashmir), Nitish Kumar, said unlike south Kashmir where number of local militants is more than foreign militants, the number of local militants has been reduced to zero in north Kashmir “after many of them surrendered during the past one month.”

“No local militants are now involved in insurgency across north Kashmir. However, there are more foreign militants active in the area as compared to south Kashmir,” Kumar said.
