SRINAGAR, JUNE 19: Minister of State for Tourism and Culture, Priya Sethi, today directed the Chief Executive Officers of all Tourism Development Authorities in Kashmir Division to identify the ‘Unique Tourism Signature’ of their respective areas so as to market each location as exclusive independent tourist destinations.
The Minister said this while chairing a meeting with the Chief Executive Officers of Tourism Development Authorities of Kashmir Division, here today.
Highlighting the geographical advantages exclusive to Kashmir, Priya Sethi said each tourist destination has its own Unique Selling Point (USP). She directed officers to devise a strategy so that tourism is sold as complete package.
The Minister further said that CEOs need to organize recreational activities related to their USPs to offer tourists an all inclusive experience of the area.
She directed the concerned authorities to complete master plan at the earliest so that tourism locations would result in socio-economic development of the area.
With regards to the ensuing Shri Amarnathji Yatra, the Minister also reviewed the status of preparations made by the Sonmarg and Pahalgam Development Authorities to ensure hassle free pilgrimage.
She was informed that arrangements including shelter sheds, water and power availability, transport etc are in place. Besides mobile network facility has been strengthened along the yatra route.
