Army porter killed as Pak troops violate ceasefire in North Kashmir

Srinagar, May 28: An Army porter was killed and another was injured in a ceasefire violation by Pakistani troops along the Line of Control (LoC) in Keran sector in frontier Kashmir district of Kupwara.

“Pakistani troops yesterday violated ceasefire in Keran sector by resorting to unprovoked firing, resulting in on the spot death of one porter and injuries to another,” a Defence Ministry spokesperson told UNI.

He said the injured was immediately taken to hospital, adding that the body of the slain porter has been retrieved and handed over to his relatives for last rites.
