Burglars loot Rs 17 lakh from JKB ATM

SRINAGAR: Burglars looted about Rs 17 lakh from Automated Teller Machine (ATM) of Jammu and Kashmir Bank (JKB) in the frontier district of Kupwara, official sources said here today.
They said a group burglars took away one ATM machine at village Unesoo Langate in Kupwara and looted cash late last night. A senior police officer said that as per bank employees there was about Rs 17 lakh cash in the ATM which has been stolen. "We have registered a case and started investigation", he said.
This was the first loot of ATM in north Kashmir though a number of bank robberies were reported in south Kashmir this year
