J&K HC set to get three more Judges

JAMMU: The Jammu and Kashmir High Court is set to get three new Judges as its recommendations cleared by Supreme Court Collegiums has passed the notification stage and the final warrants of appointment are likely to be issued soon.
District and Sessions Judges MK Hanjura and Sanjay Gupta and Advocate S K Shukla are poised to be new Judges at the High Court.
M K Hanjura is presently serving as Presiding Officer of Food Safety Appellate Tribunal. Sanjay Kumar Gupta is currently the Principal District and Session Judge Jammu while as Advocate S K Shukla has been practicing in High Court for the past several years.
The sanctioned strength of the J&K High Court is 17 Judges including Chief Justice, but presently there are only nine Judges. These included Justice R Sudhakar, Justice Mohammad Yaqoob Mir, Justice Alok Aradhe, Justice Ali Mohd Magrey, Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur, Justice Tashi Rabstan, Justice Janak Raj Kotwal and Justice Bawa Singh Walia besides Chief Justice Badar Durrez Ahmed. With the elevation of these three as judge of J&K High Court, the strength will go to 12.
