Senior AMT faculty found murdered

JAMMU: A senior female faculty member of Ancillary Medical Training (AMT) School was found dead with severe head injuries in her AMT quarters on Wednesday.
Police identified the deceased woman as Anita Suri, widow of late Vinod Gandotra, of Reshamghar Colony, Jammu.
Even though the police maintained silence on the nature of death of the woman, but sources said that she was murdered as there were severe head injuries.
“She was beaten with such force that her brain had ripped out of the skull,” sources said.
“I am busy in investigation,” SHO Bakshi Nagar Police Station, Ashwani Sharma said when The News Now contacted him.
The deceased woman was the senior-most faculty member of AMT School.
According to sources, her son arrived from Delhi this morning at about 6 am and saw her body lying in a pool of blood in her AMT quarters. He then informed the people living nearby, sought their help and fainted.
The son of the deceased woman himself had to be hospitalised at Psychiatric Hospital, Reshamghar Colony, Jammu. Police sources said that he had already been suffering from some mental illness for a long period of time.
The AMT staffers informed the police following which a police team arrived on the spot and took the body into custody and started investigation.
If sources are to be believed, the police has detained a suspect for questioning but there was no official confirmation
