11- year Old girl raped in Jammu

Mendhar, May 24: A 11 year old girl was allegedly raped by a 21 year old youth in the fields in Kas Balaria area of Mendhar sub division last evening.

Reports said that incident took place when the girl student of class 5th was returning home on foot from her relative (Mamu) from a near by hamlet. One Mohd. Rafi son of Mohd. Islmail, hailing from the same village was grazing cattle in the area. As he was known to the girl of his locality, he lured her and took her to near by bushes & committed rape on her & then escaped.

The shell shocked girl, then started moving towards her home but she fainted & fell down on the ground after covering some distance. She was bleeding. The family started looking for the girl & then found her lying on the ground & rushed to sub district hospital, Mendhar. She was then referred to district hospital, Poonch.

The parents of the girl lodged an FIR against the acused. The SDPO Riaz Tantarysaid that police team have been rushed to different locations to arrest the accused.
