BSF School Celebrates Annual Day Function

Jammu, Apr 30: A rainbow of colours unfurled on the stage as BSF School Jammu celebrated its Annual Day ‘ From Darkness to Light ’amidst great zest, vibrancy and elation. The evening was reserved for a gala presentation. Sh Ram Awtar IG BSF Jammu Frontier was the esteemed Chief Guest and Smt Kamlesh Ram Avtar was Guest of Honour. The occasion was also graced by the other Officers of the Force, press, parents and students. After the arrival of Chief Guest, the lighting of ceremonial lamp took place which was followed by Ganesh Saraswati Vandana.


The Annual Report read by Dr S K Shukla, Principal BSF School Jammu highlighted the school’s achievements in both academic and co-curricular activities and presented his vision for the progress of the school. He also assured the management and parents that he will leave no stone unturned to get the school to the greater heights in the future also.

Cultural programme by students this year revolved around the theme ‘From Darkness to Light’. Students showcased their talent by means of group song, orchestra, ballet, skit, thematic dance performances etc. A musical performance by students singing the song ‘Ekta Hi Kaum Ki Zarurat Hai Sathi’ ended with a plea to dispel the darkness and bring forth mutual harmony and trust enthralled the audience. Ballet was a soul stirring depiction of the fact that all good deeds in this world signify that righteous actions can make human come out of darkness and take him closer to divine creator through education. A musical feast was presented by the school orchestra group in the form of an orchestral train journeying through various states of India. Bhangra set the energy levels soaring with breath-taking performance.

The Chief Guest gave the prizes to the meritorious students who had excelled in academics and various competitions held at School, District and National Level.

The Chief Guest Ram Awtar, IG BSF Jammu Frontier in his speech expressed appreciation for the laudable efforts of the Principal Dr S K Shukla and his team for making the school J&K’s No.1 Day-cum-Boarding Schools three times. He also stated that he was happy to see that BSF School Jammu motivates its students by felicitating them with prizes as this serves as an impetus to their stellar performance consistently. He urged the students to hone their talents and potentials to not only carve a niche for themselves or bring laurels to school but also aim to bring glory to their state as well as their nation.

The vote of thanks was proposed by Mrs Sunita Grover. The programme culminated with the National Anthem.
