Srinagar, Apr 28: Security forces burst teargas shells today to disperse protestors who after Friday prayers took to streets of Sopore in Baramulla, agitating against the killing of a civilian in yesterday's security force firing in Kupwara.

The trouble started immediately after Friday prayers were over in Jamia Masjid in Sopore, where hundreds of protestors took to streets outside the mosque. However, when the protestors tried to march towards the 'main chowk', security forces deployed in the area swung into action and stopped the demonstrators from moving ahead.

As the protestors didn’t back down, security forces burst teargas shells to disperse the demonstrators, who were regrouping and pelting stones. The clashes between security forces and demonstrators spread to nearby areas in Sopore, where shopkeepers downed the shutters and traffic was off the roads due to the chaos.
