Demand proper adjustments as masters for those promoted in 2014 before SRO-66

Jammu, Apr 27: An urgent meeting of the Aggrieved Teachers Association, J&K was held under the Chairmanship of Ms. Mrignayani Salathia, President, Aggrieved Teachers Association. In the meeting, the fate of the masters who have done B.Ed. degrees through correspondence mode was deliberated upon. In the meeting, it was resolved that the members of the Association shall fight tooth and nail against the higher authorities, particularly Commissioner/Secretary, School Education Department, who have been oppressing the masters promoted vide Order no. DSEJ/NG/M/Prom/7255-68 dated:- 11.02.2014 for the last three years by denying adjustment to them despite the fact that the similarly situated persons have been adjusted. While addressing the meeting, Ms Mrignayani Salathia spoke that the Govt. Order no. 66-Edu of 2017 dated 16.02.2017 is not applicable to the masters who have been promoted way back in 2014 but the higher authorities have for the reasons best known to them have refused to adjust already promoted masters unless they go through a written test as envisaged by the Govt. order no. 66-Edu of 2017. She further said that during 2014 to 2016 about 165 masters have already been adjusted by the Education Department on pick and choose basis throwing all norms to the wind. She said that the higher ups in the Education Department seem to have made a plan to adjust fake degree holders by giving them an opportunity to pass the written test to be conducted by the J&K Board of School Education. She said that once the degrees of the some candidates are fake, the same cannot be considered genuine even if they qualify some written test. She said that in order to give undue benefit to the fake degree holders, masters holding genuine degrees thorough correspondence mode from UGC recognized universities are being unnecessarily harassed by denying them adjustment despite the fact that they were promoted way back in 2014. While appreciating the role of Education Minister in addressing the grievances of the teaching community, Ms. Mrignayani Salathia called upon the Education Minister to intervene in the matter to save the promoted masters from further harassment and torture at the hands of the oppressive bureaucratic approach towards the teachers who are considered to be the builders of the nation.
