IAS officer lodges forgery complaint

JAMMU: An IAS officer of Jammu and Kashmir cadre today lodged a complaint against some unknown person for floating a tender of Rs 2.83 Crore by forging his signature. Acting on his complaint, Trikuta Nagar police registered a case under Section 420 RPC in this connection and started investigation. Police sources said that Sougat Biswas, IAS, presently posted as Saugat Biswas, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, holding additional charge of the post of Project Director, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, has said in his complaint that someone prepared a tender for procuring blackboard valuing Rs 2.83 Crore, forged his signature and floated the same on social media site.
“It is not feasible to comment on this as investigation of the case is going on,” said a police officer.
Meanwhile, sources said that police suspects some employees of the department and subject them to questioning.
